What we hold, why we hold it, and who else sees it.
Photographs uploaded with a listing are analysed automatically before a person reviews them. That includes a reverse image search and a safe-content check, run by a third-party service. It tells us whether the same image appears elsewhere — most usefully whether it has been lifted from another listing. The results are for our own review, are never shown publicly, and never decide anything on their own.
Digital platforms are required to collect and report seller details — name, address, date of birth and tax reference — to HM Revenue and Customs. That is a legal obligation, not a choice, and it is why we ask for those things at sign-up rather than later.
We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to anybody for marketing.
Listing photographs and order records are kept for at least a year after a sale, because they are the evidence if anything is queried. Accounts we no longer need are deleted.
You can ask what we hold, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted — email hello@lovedart.co.uk. Some records we must keep for tax and legal reasons even after an account closes, and we will say so if that applies.
